Mentorship Program
The two of us (Tom and Dan) began Studio Neat in 2010 with our first Kickstarter campaign, and have launched a variety of different products on Kickstarter and on our website since then. We have learned a lot over the years, all of the trials and tribulations of trying to bring something new into the world. And we have met a lot of wonderful people along the way who have offered invaluable advice and guidance.
We are also keenly aware that as two white men, we have benefited incalculably from our privilege, and a societal structure in our country that disadvantages BIPOC, women, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
We want to do whatever we can to boost individuals belonging to underrepresented groups. There is something incredibly empowering and exhilarating about eschewing gatekeepers and making your own thing. This feeling is something everyone should have the opportunity to experience.
To that end, we are now offering a mentorship program. Whether you are just getting started and need a push in the right direction, or near launching and need one final look-over, or already have a product in the market and have some specific questions, we want to help.
We love to share what we’ve learned in our time running Studio Neat, in hopes of inspiring future makers. We’ve written books, taught classes, blathered on podcasts, and given talks, but we’ve never before offered something like this: an individualized one-on-one (well I guess two-on-one) consultation.
The format is fairly loose depending on what you’d like help / guidance on, but basically our engagement would be a one hour video chat, some follow up emails, and then a second one hour chat, if desired.
If you are a member of an underrepresented group and would find something like that useful, please don’t hesitate to reach out:
