Minimal

Nothing extraneous.

Mark Two was designed to be minimal and beautiful. There are no logos or excess ornamentation, and the seam on the body (to unscrew and replace the refill) is nearly completely hidden by a post-polishing process. The black cerakote sleeve has a slightly textured, matte finish, and the body is polished and smooth.

Pocketable

Take it with you.

Mark Two is quite short when sleeved, making it an ideal pen to carry in your pocket or purse. However, the magic happens when you post the sleeve on the body. Due to a clever bit of engineering, the pen elongates to a full length when posted. And when you are ready to cap it again, the body slides into the sleeve with a satisfying magnetic closure.

Durable

Made to last a lifetime.

If you’re going to be carrying a pen around every day, it needs to be durable. Mark Two is made entirely out of stainless steel. The outer sleeve is coated with Cerakote, a robust ceramic-polymer coating that wears beautifully. This pen should last a lifetime.

Refill

A mini version of the beloved Schmidt.

We were delighted to discover Schmidt makes a mini version of their amazing P8126 rollerball refill, identical in every way except the length. Perfect for a pocket pen. The Schmidt P8126 mini is what ships with Mark Two, but our pen will also work with a D1 refill and our custom D1 Adaptor.

With or without a clip

Whatever suits you best.

We know tons of folks want a clip on their everyday carry pen, which is why we included one in the original design for Mark Two. However, in this new revision, we are now offering an option with no clip. If you prefer the clean, almost bullet-like appearance, clip-less is a great option.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Mark Two transition from pocket size to full length?

By some clever engineering! Although the sides of the Mark Two body appear parallel, they are actually slightly angled towards the back of the body. This allows the body, when flipped around, to “wedge” into the sleeve, creating a full length pen.

What are the exact dimensions of the Mark Two when sleeved and posted?

The Mark Two is 88 mm sleeved, 130 mm posted and 11 mm wide at widest part.

Is the clip removable or adjustable?

The clip is not adjustable or removable, but we offer a clipless and a clip version.

What are the available finishes for the Mark Two?

Currently Mark Two is available in black, orange, blue, and green Cerakote finishes.

What is Cerakote?

Cerakote is an extremely durable ceramic-polymer coating. It creates a matte, super smooth finish that ages beautifully. Learn more about it here.

It's grown on me

After a few months of use, I have gotten over my initial hesitations, which were about my expectations not aligning as to the Schmidt P8126 refill. It doesn't come with a P8126 refill, although it may well be a P8126 equivalent in how it writes. The P8126 is too long for this pen. So it comes with a shorter refill of respectable capacity The pen's minimal size is its pocket virtue, in my book. So I am enjoying it, even if I am compelled to buy refills three at a time from Studio Neat. I was hoping for buying them one at a time as needed from any P8126 vendor. I'll get over it, especially if refill three is still flowing ink by the time I exhaust one and two. If so, I will be surprised, but then I will have no concerns. Time will tell. If Studio Neat would offer single refills, rather than a minimum of three,at a time, that would be great. But good pen, guys. It has taken up residence in my pocket.

New favorite pen

The Mark Two is very satisfying to use - it has great weight for its compact, every day carry size, the powder coated finish is nice to hold & a good contrast to the smooth barrel; writing is effortless & smooth.
The tip however will loosen easily & requires regular tightening, but that doesn’t detract much from a nice instrument.
